What's a "treaties game"?

Are you thinking like the good ole War Declaration games/Alliance declaration we used to have? If so hell yea I'm in!

Here we go: A treaties game is one in which you have to declare treaties on Global, and also must declare war on Global a full phase ahead. This means that if you declare war in the Fall phase, you cannot attack until the Spring phase. Declarations made during the retreat phase or build phase count as being the following phase.

Also, if you announce a DMZ, and the other nation violates this DMZ, you have the right to instantly declare war.

examples: France declares war on Germany in Spring 1901. In Fall 1902, France moves to Munich and captures it.
France retreats to burgundy in fall 1902, England Declares war on France, In Spring 1903, England cannot engage in moves or supports against France. In Fall 1903, England supports move to Brest from Picardy.

On the topic of declaring a DMZ, is it done unilaterally or must it be agreed upon with other parties?

I was just reading the chat from one of the old games and I think I would like to join this game. If we only get 7 players, my vote is for Zeus.

By the way my vote goes to Modern unless we can't get that many... oh and also, THE GYMNASTIC GOAT WILL RETURN!

Eleven? That stinks. I think we should get ten players who want to play modern. and get a second, smaller game going for anyone else who wants to play, or wants a second one.

Are there any other regulations or things to know about? That link to the previous thread was not very informative. One year declarations before attaching an opponent's occupied territory and instant causus bellus for a breached dmz. Anything else? If someone declares on me, must I wait a year to attack him?
