Just got majorly screwed on WebDip

For some reason, I couldn't get online for the past ten minutes on webdip during the middle of my live gunboat. causing me to get screwed.

New Variant: North Sea Wars

Hey everyone. I did some variants in the past and I had a new idea.
Wanted to make something a bit more balanced (see Fubar variant) and a bit faster (see Dutch Revolt). I do like wonky map designs and I will not dissapoint this time.

We shall try to create regularly scheduled Live games to make playing more interesting for some people! All Interested post in the forum and state when you are able to play. I want to get at least two Live games a week going, and more if possible.

Eh, this sounds like the 500CC club damian tried to create over on WebDip. It had like 50 members, but never got off the ground. My schedule is too fickle to commit, sorry.

Grand, we have fasces, KA, ez, Shep, Diplomat, and myself?! thats a good 6 already, and a few more means we can play almost any of the 10 or less player variants :)
also to get this started: all members send me a PM to tell me relative times they are free so I can make a time schedule of when we are going to do the games.

From experience time is big issue, turns must be 5 min = 3h game tops!!
and gathering time. (the only playable time was 6pm london time to accommodate aussies, americans and europeans)

Hence for starters why dont you agree for one live game per week. every sunday at 6 GMT. That way people would know and try to be live at 5.50 and search for the game.

It's hard in less than 5 mins to conduct diplomacy with 6 other players + global chat and enter/check orders.
I appreciate the idea, but cypeg is right about the time estimation for full chat live games.
I suggest to begin with 3-4-5 players variants. The time commitment will be much lower and it will be easier to get a game started.

I'd love to play a live classic FoW some day, though.

It is painstaking work especially as u have to refresh constantly to see msgs. and the stress adds to that. Now I used to play dippy on the pc game (yes there is one) and if it werent for the laaaaaaagy server it would have been the perfect forum. But still..it is time consuming and people just cant do 3h games. The idea for smaller variants is good. And finally, none will finalise fast enough. I tried it with 1v1 and is still a hassle.

Expect less diplomacy from me if you're in a game with me

Sadly, I just got news that I won't be able to be on much. Over a month ago, I ordered a new PC from Dell because my old one was dying. I've spent the last month getting dicked around by Dell about when they're going to get the new one to me. Meanwile, the old one has finally finished dying. I can get on enough to do orders, but that's about it. Sorry.

Up till year 961 Denmark and Rome had equal amount of centers and points. But in the year after 962 Denmar got more centers and won the game. The question is how come I got less points than the second player!?
