Turkey was doing pretty good but CDd after some refused to pause the game... typical gunboat. Still time for someone to take over turkey in a good position, not much harm has been done. Very important to maintain the balance of power in the game.
Can we get a draw forced? A player NMRed the first turn. A new player would be horribly disadvantaged, so just getting him CDed probably wouldn't work. Our consensus seems to be that he should be punished by losing his points.

From the best of best thread...reading that made me wonder...is it only possible to do well with one of them? Eden is a good Austria/crappy Italy (as am I), Hellenic is the opposite. More views would be good.
anyone up for a live game, hopefully on something other than 2 or 3 player? I was thinking a variation of classic if we can get enough people, maybe FoW or something
Hi all - To allow for the necessary argy-bargy/discussion about what variant to play (I'm guessing a month of back and forth banter), I'd like to suggest a best of the best game with a buy-in of around 120. Any interest?
God damn, Hellenic. You play one mean-ass Italy. Averages: 5.0% win, 13.2% draw. Your win rate is literally 4x the average.
Your Turkey kicks ass, too, I could probably learn a thing or two from you there because Turkey is one of my worst countries. Looks like you play a pretty good England and Russia too, and while your Germany isn't outstanding in terms of win/draw (though better than average in draws), it's apparently one tough bastard to kill. You could use work with France and Austria -- maybe we could swap pointers, because F and A are some of my best and Turkey is definitely my worst (and I'm not as good at Italy from the looks of it).
I like Turkey or Austria and im actually pretty good with Austria, but thats because for awhile back on Facebook all I ever got was France or Austria in almost every game

Yeah, I'm pretty good as Italy, theyre the one I enjoy most, whereas Turkey is just quite easy xD.
I am really quite bad as Austria, and France I'm solid but usually ge crowded out towards the end so someone else solo's. Russia I usually either do awful or great, no middle ground.
I'd be okay swapping hints, I really need to improve as Austria :P
Ok, back from holidays. Good to see all the discussions on the finer points of which is a shittier power, Italy or Austria. Let's get this game on. Who's with me?
Ok, I've started up the game at gameID=2778. I've gone with PPSC, 48 hour phases, 120 buy in and Classic build anywhere. If enough people want to play it, we'll kick off. If not, maybe another version of Best of the Best will get legs.
I'll watch it -- not a fan of PPSC/Build Anywhere and I'm a little loaded up on games at vdip as is, but I'll see about jumping in if it's not going to work.
