I'm not really surprised France attacked me, but I was better positioned to hold him off until Italy became a threat. We allied and worked together against Italy, before Turkey became the real threat. All normal stuff in a gunboat.
Then mid game, after Italy had betrayed Germanay and Germany had retreated out of Poland, Poland continued to attack Germany. The problem with this was that Turkey was invading his home SCs. I could kind of understand that out of stupid revenge and in order to help England defeat Germany who would eventually help stop Turkey. However, then Poland proceeded to attack England after Germany was out of the picture. If not for these actions, Poland would have had a good chance at being in the draw.
At his height, Turkey was seven SCs from winning with easy access to the rest. The only thing holding him back were my rogue units, a weak Italy, and his missing turns. If not for any one of these things, I'm fairly certain he would have won or come damn close. I think Italy put up a good fight, and I'm sorry we could not include him in the draw.
I was already pissed at Poland and England, at this point when I posted the previous thread. Then things got worse. The first England (before he left) was not sending units to help against Turkey, who had enough momentum to win. I'm not sure if we were lucky that he left, but then the new England decided to attack me. WTF. I'm glad England decided to back off, but then instead of sending those fleets north where they could convoy armies through the Barrents, she kept four fleets on my border, which forced me to keep more fleets on my border. We were incredibly lucky that Turkey missed so many turns.
I'm curious, among other obvious things, if the new England actually thought that I wouldn't be prepared for a betrayal with so many units near my border. Were you planning one for the end?
Turkey, you played very well, although I believe the best policy for rogue units is to mostly ignore them.
