Although I've just noticed that parts of your rivers actually form the border between different territories - as opposed to moving directly through them, this might cause a problem, but equally it might not.

Has anyone ever thought of a map that is a world map, but theres are just tons and tons of territories? like uh, maybe If anyone has seen what hearts of iron 2 and 3 has done for territories.

I seem to be a fan of huge maps. I could like, start up my hearts of iron 2 game and take a picture of what the map/territories look like.

A World Diplomacy map on the scale of HoI3 would probably take a dozen years to finish if you played with 6/hr phases.

You know what, Adammaa...I am going to make one huge ass map...just for you.

Before you start, take a look at the maps used for WWIV. you'll notice that there are 2 sets. This is because there is over 256 territories. Just something to keep in mind before you start making that huge ass map...

But....what if we made some sort of grip map? That way we could have extremely small territories...make the game more realistic, and add fucktons of players?

The Hearts of Iron 2 mod I have in is called Kasierreich.... I checked the statistics in the editor and there 2609 provinces :P

You would need the ability to zoom in pretty far to view your units and provinces lol.

lol... Don't forget, that also includes the seas. not just land. I have taken pictures of some of the places of the game, I don't know how to get them to show on here, but theres alot of pictures, some just for show.

I would try it if I knew how to make the maps and coding and stuff lol.

Hey, even though i'm talking about something that might be out of your reach, you could still try to keep it where france is the only country/player in france and so and so forth, it would really reduce how many players would be needed, just you could either start out with more armies/fleets or you just get more sc's to grab starting at 3.

If I can get pictures that I took of the game and bring them up here on this site from my computer in a folder, It could help show what I mean.

So, if I want to try and sum up what I mean..... Take world war 4 map, create more territories out of each one, add more sc's but keep the same amount of countries.

Or you could try and add some more players/countries if you think that your able to make enough space and that there are enough people that will play it lol.

That seems awsome but it looks like you would have to start labeling everything (land#) (sea#) and (coastal#)

What I have been talking about does have a nice map with all of it having names. If anyone is looking to try and do what I'm talking about, I could see if I can send HoI2 files so you can load/play the game and get the territories and names of them.

For all I care, they can be named '1,' '2,' '3,' and so on. The point is...I thought this might be a good idea, and for once in my life I would like to know what other people think before I turn this into something bigger than success will allow it.

Been looking a little into Hearts of Iron II (Anthology), Hearts of Iron III and Victoria II.

Thoughts on what's a better game/worth buying?

Europa Universalis III complete.

HoI 3 is pretty good, but takes time to learn. HoI2 takes even more time to learn. Never played Victoria.

Victoria II is probably the easiest to learn of the three series (EU, HoI, Vic). It's also the newest, so it's not as well-polished yet.

Victoria II is a lot of fun and doesn't take that long to learn, but I heard that it isn't as good as HoI(but I've never played HoI so I wouldn't know)

I been wanting to get Victoria but I don't know where to buy it since it's not in Gamestop

Steam or Gamersgate for digital copies. Physical copies are harder to find.

Found a few copies of Victoria II on eBay...
