Hi,
I'm one of the ones whose messages went to Web Dip. I'm new and made a mistake with one game I'm still trying to resolve:
"I recently joined and enrolled in two games. In one, "Modern Dangers," (game ID #2964) I did not realize the game would process when I missed the deadline (I thought there would be a grace period of at least a few hours, if not a day). Unfortunately, this is a daily game. As such, I know I'm not going to be able to keep up with it and need to resign. I try never to resign from a game, but I am just not going to be able to make the deadline every time and if the game processes without me moving, I'm not helping anyone out by not moving. I looked ahead of time to try to put orders in, in advance, but we were in a build phase and there was no way to order units for the next phase. I will not enter in any short games again.
Also, this would be great information for the FAQ (no grace period for missing a turn, don't play in a game if you can't make the deadlines for sure...), as if I had seen all that in the FAQ, I would've avoided the situation. I guess there are no replacement players? And no way to pause the game without a vote? (more good info for the FAQ). As on short games, it's seems impossible to get a pause vote from everyone before the game processes, or if you do not intend to miss a deadline, but barely miss, you're screwed. And in a game where every decision can affect a victory or draw, this seems unrealistic."
Ive been trying to resolve this, but the links I've found seem to lead to Web Dip. Now the game has been proceeding for turns with no replacement and I'm CD, which is not what I intended and will apparently hurt my ranking just because I'm new and uninformed.
Thank You,
Greg Orzech
