But I know I play too much diplomacy when I was playing a nice friendly game of risk and offered to support move my friend into Middle East.

And try playing Castle Risk. The Risk on the map of Europe. Fun, fun, fun. WHERE DID TUNIS GO?!?!?!?!?!

when you use the excuse- "sorry, I have to support-move my buddy into his apartment on Saturday"

but in my defence, Smyna-Denmark supported by Sweden to take Denmark from the Germans.

a few more (that apply to me):
When your computer is filled with images of various stalemate lines of various variants
When your willing to stay up till 5 am to see a game progress
When you draw the early twentieth century map of Europe for an art project (lacking any other inspiration)
When you show up 20 minutes late to class in order to finish various diplomacy messages, even when the turn doesn't progress for another 2 days.
When you should be writing a paper worth 5% of your final mark but are wasting time on vdip (like I am right now)

when I watch my friends play risk I shudder at the thought of having all those territories that are not connected shudder
then again I'm also the guy that would go into a one hour long monologue about the importance of the Balkan and North African campaigns of WW2

you have declared yourself a WWI expert based solely on your diplomacy knowledge

@fasces349, It is 9:43 PM where I am now, and I am in the same boat as you... I find that if I write for too long, I tend to lose track of my thesis. I go on Diplomacy every once in a while to clear my head of "Lord of the Flies".

My 7 fleet Convoy allowed me the break through the stalemate line (of course it required France and England, 2 of the 3 countries holding said line) to support/convoy my unit).

Your 21 fleet convoy, the game was already over and planning those are easy...

When you, as I did, make a 10 day a phase WW4 game and get it to start!

@D33 You know you play too much diplomacy when you get so bored that you actually join a game like that, and get 33 (or however many it is) other people to as well.

You know ypu play too much Diplomacy when you are disappointed because you cant simply retreat out of the prison in monopoly :-(
