I would play it no matter what map it is on

However my fav map right now is the no neutrals, so I would prefer if it is played on that.

@mongoose: yeah five is all i ask. and thats basically what it is. you have to wait a movement phase to attack an ally AFTER declaring war.
@Fasces: i think the no neutrals would hurt the initial claiming of territories

Colonial makes sense for the initial claiming of territories...

Colonial works with me, i do enjoy the classic map from time to time, Seven Islands or Economy could be interesting. as well

so how do u excatly play treaties? no lying, you must declare war on enemy, must wait a full year before attacking former ally.
but how does one "attack"? IE France is allyed with England, breaks alliance, and that turn he moves to Irish, NAO, Channel. do any of those moves violate the terms of the game?

I'll play Colonial; although, I like the freak out factor of 1897, too.

six months before you can attack a land territory, after you declare war. if England moves into a coastal territory France has the discretion to declare war at that very instant.

we have a thread that has rules for this type of game somewhere on the forum we played a whole bunch a while back most of them have the phrase war declaration in the title

I prefer the 6 hours before attacking someone, you must declare war.
If two players bounce somewhere, they go to war.

Any alliance made can be announced, and if one of your allies goes to war, you go to war with that person. If your allies declares war on another ally, you choose which ally to support (you can remain neutral).

However, in order to attack an ally, you must cancel the alliance first, then in the following season, you declare war.

A retreating unit can only retreat to enemy lands, his lands or allied lands. If he wants to retreat to neutral lands, he has to request safe passage.

i was in the other ones and Id like to play again... although id prefer if we did a map besides Colonial since that was the last one;

But I dont like that 6 hours rule... I would prefer declaring in spring and you cannot attack until autumn

that's the rule i would go by mrmidon. if we could get two more we could play Colonial or anything Resembling the original map. we could play some other variants too, I'm not sure which are 5 players though
