20 Nov 23 UTC | Spring, 1955: Why is this called gunboat? |
20 Nov 23 UTC | Spring, 1955: Fake Al (Gamedirector): Whoops, it was supposed to be a no press game. |
20 Nov 23 UTC | Spring, 1955: Ah, so we just don't talk? Or just ignore the gunboat? |
20 Nov 23 UTC | Spring, 1955: I already sent messages |
20 Nov 23 UTC | Spring, 1955: I too.. |
21 Nov 23 UTC | Autumn, 1955: Fake Al (Gamedirector): Just ignore the name of the game lol |
27 Nov 23 UTC | Autumn, 1957: I will not be in this game for much longer, goodbye |
01 Dec 23 UTC | Autumn, 1958: Hey… North Vietnam. Would you like to play the game? |
01 Dec 23 UTC | Autumn, 1958: Pick up two builds and then sit on your hands while two free centers are sitting there. |
01 Dec 23 UTC | Autumn, 1958: I’ll put my draw vote in after Thailand’s official elimination |
01 Dec 23 UTC | Spring, 1959: GameMaster: South Vietnam voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has. |
09 Dec 23 UTC | Autumn, 1960: btw, South Thailand Coast and Central Gulf of Thailand aren't connected |
11 Dec 23 UTC | Thailand is gone. |
12 Dec 23 UTC | Gg! |
12 Dec 23 UTC | Didn’t really feel like playing out given that it’s unranked |
12 Dec 23 UTC | It's too easy for North Vietnam to defend |
12 Dec 23 UTC | I’ll write my retrospective later |
12 Dec 23 UTC | Good game, you got me out pretty early |
12 Dec 23 UTC | Alright, so I'll give my feedback on the map. In general, this map played decently well in terms of how it felt to fight on it, but I'd like to see a few select changes. First, of course, the Central Gulf of Thailand/South Thailand Coast adjacency needs to be fixed. The coasts in Mekong and Long Xuyen are also extremely weird and should be removed. They make gameplay awkward, and we already have Pakxe as a river tile without coasts. Finally, my position was such that it became essentially impossible to play without fighting Cambodia sooner or later, as I'd just get too stuck to the coast otherwise. I'd recommend combining Saigon and Pan Thiet into one tile to give South Vietnam better ways to expand in other directions. Overall, nice map, but definitely needs a little more in the way of healthy adjacencies--for instance, North Vietnam and Laos also seem very much forced into fighting each other. |
13 Dec 23 UTC | Nam Tha is also extremely wierd. Anyone who controls Nam Tha gains an eternal defence from the other side. The same happens to Vientiane and Thanh Hoa. |
