You may have considered this already, but maybe you could do them as public press games. Depends of course on if you like public press; I find that many don't.

I thought for a while of more ideas, I guess one could be to make it a choose your countries and play as one country over and over. For example play as Italy every game.
Another I thought of was to do it in order of popularity rating. That way the most obscure variants could be showcased.

Or, maybe the country with the worst statistics on that map!

In Classic, play as Austria (Austria is the worst)
And in the full world variants, play as Antarctica

Play as Milan in Europa Renovatio! And Nevada in Divided States!

Another idea, try to do "full map completion" on a few different variants. Use the EoG setting to make the solo number the full number of SCs in the variant.

You can try Genoa in Europa Renovatio. It will be a challenge :)
And Pisa or Siena in Rinascimento. Byzantine in Crusades 1201. China in Known World 901. Russia in American Conflict. It's hard to have even a chance of surviving.

Host Pick your country for each game, and you must pick the faction with the lowest rating for every map!

i'd say if you want to do the "pick hardest factions", make games full press, because then you can argue "support the little guy"

I'm hoping to resume the Finkelboat series in late July or August; whatever your goals are, you could probably get a little bit on your way toward them with that :)

Ooh I was the Genoa in that Venice game. I think I looked through the past 6 games with a Genoa draw, I was in 5 of the games and got the draw in all 5. That one I was Genoa, there was the team game with the big draw and I was on the other end of the map (LO), in the public press I was Venice allied with them, another I was French allied with them, then other end of map (bohemia) in a gunboat where Genoa drew with 3 centers.

The key to surviving as Genoa is clearly to have me in the game.

Looking good for Genoa in Kings & Generals then
