Hey everybody. It was about time someone organised another cross platform Cold War tournament.

IMHO a really great new variant with many options, constantly fluctuating balances of power, both fleets and armies with power, sensible offboard movement that makes stalemates hard.
I've got some very good positions in a Europa Renovatio and a Colonial 1885 that I'd like to unload. Excellent opportunity for some shiny V points with no risk. PM me for details....
Going through an unexpectedly busy period at the moment and can't really pay full attention to all of my games. John Ford is arguably the greatest director of Hollywood Westerns. Orson Welles is on record as saying that most of the "innovations" he got credit for inventing in Citizen Kane were actually stolen from John Ford's Westerns that high brow filmmakers did not pay attention to.
Additionally, just learned that Wyatt Earp ran a brothel in Peoria, Illinois. For those who are unaware, Richard Prior grew up in his grandmother's brothel in Peoria, Illinois.
Winston Churchill dislocated a shoulder after being hit by a car while crossing 5th Avenue in New York City. He apparently had looked the wrong way for traffic before jay walking. (The British rather famously drive on the wrong side of the road)

I hadn't heard that story. But honestly, maybe not on a major avenue, but its pretty easy to look the wrong way in New York City given all the one-way streets.

@gopher This reminds me of a situation in the Croatian parliament at the beginning of the 20th century. An argument broke out on the floor and the speaker offended one of the members. The member immediately shot him down. Threats and assassinations were a real thing until so recently. :d

That reminds me of a situation in the American politics at the beginning of the 19th century. An argument began between the Vice President and the former Treasury Secretary. The Vice President shot him dead. :oP

@gopher You are right, it was technically the Yugoslavia parliament, but he was a member of one of the Croatian parties in it. (hence why I remember it slightly wrong).

gopher27: Yes, Croatia had a parliament within the Hungarian half of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Within the Austrian half, it seems like the Dalmatian parliament was also dominated by Croats.
I don't think that they had a choice. They agreed to this in the Compromise of 1868, just a year after the Compromise of 1867 reestablished the Hungarian parliament.

I would like to report a player in an anonymous game
Hey mod team, I’d like to report a player in an anonymous game. I can’t easily describe what happened so it would be easier if you just looked at the chat logs yourself. Needless to say, they were directly attacking a different player calling them all sorts of slurs.

New game and not new missing first turns. Many players miss their first turn in ALL of their games. They have very good position in the rank, with % of victory/draw higher than their % of survive/defeat ... of course, if they give up their games just the first turn, dissatisfied with the country they will have to play. In my oppinion all abandoned games should count as DEFEATED. What do you think?
I have a solid spot in this game above, but I have lost interest in Vdip and thinking on going on a temporary hiatus after my current games wrap up. It would make it alot easier if anyone would be open to taking my spot here! Idk if i'm allowed to say what specific nation here but its one of the better ones, so reply here if your interested and I could pm you more info.
