Before the vdip scoring system got introduced, we had the vdip points only. Hence, sometimes there were big-stakes games often, where you could win or lose a lot. Like a casino, but with less of a luck factor in it.

It was also a way to keep rookies out, if you wanted. Since everyone starts with 100 points, a game with a say 300 points buy-in would surely only include experienced players.

Now that the vdip system is well established, people don’t often put up high-stakes anymore, hence there is less movement there and it’s more of a relic of the past.

So Games like this, gameID=22411, but actually looking back 400 was already a huge buy in.
