I'm interested, but I'd only be interested in playing the modern variant. I don't think I would be interested if we are playing on the classic map.

Actually I listened to the Technostar episode a month or so ago and I heard it in my mind as "Boers", and I was pretty confused why there was so much interest in a Boers variant lol

I haven't thought of a game name yet. Maybe 'Bourse 2022', but for you gopher - if you decide to play, I'll call it 'Luna Bourse 2022 Terra'

I've never heard of anything like this before! Sounds interesting. I'm in, but being not economically-inclined, I need a couple clarifications (sorry if these were already explained, I don't quite get it):

-Can you buy your own country's stock?
-How exactly do you buy currency? I understand that you start with 1000 of each country's money, each worth $1 (so on a 10-player game, $10,000 worth of currency to start). If I want to buy $500 France money, do I need to "sell" $500 of something else?
-I think the answer is yes... but just to make sure, when we buy and sell, we make transactions with the GM, and not other players, right?
-The value of a country's money is independent of their SC count unless they are dead, correct?
-It sounds like the game must end in a solo (the SC winner in win condition 1). Am I interpreting this correctly?

Yes you can.

That's exactly correct. To begin with each country's stock is worth $1 each. So to buy $500 francs in Spring, you would also simultaneously need to sell $500 worth of stock from other countries that season. You can also 'bank' your $US in a float to make larger purchases in following seasons.

That is correct - you make your transactions via PM with me.

The $US value of a country's money is independent of a country's SC count. However the amount of Victory Points you get for your stock is pegged to the SC count.

It doesn't have to end in a solo - the winner of the bourse will be the player with the highest amount of bourse Victory Points when the game finishes, either as a draw or a solo.
