15 Jul 24 UTC | Yep. I think there's some luck involved as well, and I certainly had that, but the early defensive position is obviously useful too. I think previous Italy was way too slow/passive in reacting to my solo threat, and could probably have stabbed (if would even have been a stab, not like we had a real alliance going) for a win attempt themselves. |

15 Jul 24 UTC | Yeah, that was a nice touch. Germany was effectively playing with 3 units less these last turns. I don't think I played it perfectly at all, but it always felt like it should be hard for them to defend especially with this variant in gunboat when it's basically impossible for them to coordinate well. |
