08 Mar 24 UTC | Spring, 200: (Orange): Alright joined all three, map looks neat |
14 Apr 24 UTC | GameMaster: Saba voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has. |
14 Apr 24 UTC | ok |
14 Apr 24 UTC | You're in luck Hadhramaut |
14 Apr 24 UTC | As I said in the other game that ended today, this variant goes hard on the balance of power aspect, people having to change sides constantly to prevent whoever is going to solo because solo is so close to get. |
14 Apr 24 UTC | Yeah I did get a little break yeah it’s a fun variant but barbaria in my opinion has no shot of soloing |
14 Apr 24 UTC | Barbaria has pretty easy time getting into both Arabia and into Ethiopia, while its hard to attack them over land. So as long as Hadhramaut is a bit distracted or something then Barbaria can get a good solo chance |
14 Apr 24 UTC | True |
15 Apr 24 UTC | The Atagaw-Highlands opening by Aksum is really detrimental to Barbaria. Especially when that is paired with Hadhramaut opening to Erythraean Sea. I think it would be good to better incentivize Aksum to open with a convoy to the Arabian coast. |
15 Apr 24 UTC | I'm all ears to suggestions. |
15 Apr 24 UTC | True true, honestly Aksum's best bet with the fleet turn one is to always move to Herculian, anything else is just dumb, since even if they bounce they can just move to Elaia in autumn, and if they don't bounce then they can move to Elaia, or threaten Portus Ferresanus or Sana'a depending on how Saba moved. You won't waste time by sending an army to Adulis when you could just get bounced and go nowhere, when instead you could go south and near guarantee yourself a center. To fix that you'd have to do something to make it worth it for Aksum to go for the convoy first, such as making Herculian Sea not touch Sana'a, but that might make Aksum's position too strong, they already have been in the most draws. Could also make Ethiopian Highlands be split in two so that Aksum can't as quickly touch Malao and Azania? Both of these suggestions though just make it so Aksum isn't as close to the others which might make them more defensible, but makes it harder for them to get centers. |
15 Apr 24 UTC | So Idk, those be my thoughts |
