19 Sep 22 UTC GG all. Northumbria's starting position is cramped but once I'd taken Scotland and gotten out of the early game, being able to make fleets on both sides of the map was quite good.

I felt bad about attacking Mercia after we were on friendly terms early game, but it was the clearest route to victory since others hadn't yet realized that I was a threat. Maybe they didn't anticipate me taking Ireland so quickly. Either way, Wales and Cornubia would've had to stop attacking Mercia to form a united front against me, and that didn't happen.
19 Sep 22 UTC Yep, Wales and Cornubria attacked me despite the threat and got the result they were asking for
19 Sep 22 UTC Autumn 657 was about when it was clear Ireland was going to lose the fight. After that turn I stopped attacking you Mercia. What didn't help was that Cornubia's land forces couldn't do anything to stop Northumbria without first going through you. Combine that with Northumbria's quick takeover of Ireland and me being unsure if Cornubia was going to work with me against Northumbria or take my centers, so my fleets were slow to mobilize.
19 Sep 22 UTC At that point, it was too late for you to do anything--Cornubria wouldn't stop attacking so I had to throw
19 Sep 22 UTC Gg and well played

There is a good reason I think that Ireland has the worst statistics on this map. Much of the defence is 50 50 choice for Ireland but each move gives ground not a bounce. However I admit every move I played was the wrong side of 50 50 every time.
