18 Apr 22 UTC Spring, 1901: Hello!
18 Apr 22 UTC Spring, 1902: howdy
19 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1903: Youve won again
19 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1903: Yeah, I think so. Going for Sevastapol with the fleet is a bad choice, you should go Constantinople -> Bulgaria with it so you reach Tunis in time.

Also going for Warsaw instead of St Petersburg is bad too. St Petersburg cannot be defended from the south but you force me to put lots of troops there if you are the one who initially owns it.

I think the optimal move for Turkey are: Ankara to sevastapol in year one, that army to St Petersburg in year two. The Constantinople army goes to Serbia in year 1 and Tyrolia in year 2. I think this is optimal play.
19 Apr 22 UTC Spring, 1904: okay I see
19 Apr 22 UTC Spring, 1904: Thanks for the tip
19 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1904: Do you know the great stalemate line? Imagine a line from North africa through Wes, GoL, Piedmont, Tyrolia, Boh, Sil, Prussia, Livonia and the border between StP and Moscow. What's special about this line? Well, both sides of it have 17 centers and whoever has his troops at the line can forever defend against an invader. It's simply impossible to breach this line from either side when the other side has it's troops well positioned.

So in those 1v1 games in the standard map it's important to get to that line as quickly as possible. Your aim is to breach it before the opponent can defend it.

When you look at my moves, you see that I often choose advancing my troops further to takong extra centers on my side of the line - those I will be able to take anyway. I need the centers on your side! (Tunis is one of them and since the goal is 21 I also need some Italian centers or Warsaw and Moscow and Vienna.)
19 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1904: Yeah I didnt know any of this stuff
I should look into it
20 Apr 22 UTC Spring, 1906: Tough one this
20 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1906: You see, because of this stalemate line mechanic, it's a lot harder to get to a number bigger than 18 than to make the 18. In a standard match you would have lost, but in this one it might end in some sort of stalemate position. You've made a brrakthrough in Italy.
20 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1906: so is italy a bad idea?
20 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1906: No, it was a good idea. I feel bad for not countering it, because I expected it, but countering it would have meant that I potentially loose Tyrrhenian.
20 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1907: The altered victory condition makes this very different to play. It's interesting to me.

Normally you just have to push for 18 and don't care if you can hold the 18.
20 Apr 22 UTC Autumn, 1907: Yeah
21 Apr 22 UTC GameMaster: Turkey voted for a Concede. If everyone (but one) votes concede the game will end and the player _not_ voting Concede will get all the points. Everybody else will get a defeat.
21 Apr 22 UTC Oh this was unnecessary! I think you could have forced a draw.
21 Apr 22 UTC I doubt it, you played well
