20 Oct 21 UTC Spring, 1: Hi everyone.
20 Oct 21 UTC Spring, 1: gl hf
20 Oct 21 UTC Spring, 1: Hey back at you!
29 Oct 21 UTC Autumn, 4: Gg carthage lmao
31 Oct 21 UTC Spring, 5: GameMaster: Someone has taken over Egypt replacing "pig76800". Reconsider your alliances.
03 Nov 21 UTC Spring, 7: GG lads!
03 Nov 21 UTC Spring, 7: Are you guys unironically metagaming
03 Nov 21 UTC Autumn, 7: Nope, just good ol fashion trust in random people on the internet
03 Nov 21 UTC Autumn, 7: Im calling sus on that. Greece has been able to stab you for 4 turns now in the west without you being able to stop that and you aren’t even trying to defend against a possible stab with hold orders. You’re both going out of your way to avoid attacking one another even though both of you fully committing to attack me leaves you open.
03 Nov 21 UTC Autumn, 7: Yeah this one is just obvious, don’t try to act like you aren’t game ruining.
03 Nov 21 UTC Autumn, 7: I dunno, we made an agreement earlier in the game for a 2-way draw. And with this being a PPSC game, the stakes for a betrayal are lower. Plus in my experience, Ancient Med games usually end in a 3-way draw, so mixing that up is an interesting avenue to pursue.

I do understand that it sucks to be on the receiving end, but this is simply a good working relationship we established early on which continued through the rest of the game so far.
03 Nov 21 UTC Autumn, 7: So you’re letting him win in other words. That’s against game rules for a game with a bet on it
03 Nov 21 UTC Autumn, 7: I’m not letting him win.
04 Nov 21 UTC Autumn, 7: You “agreed to a 2 way draw” which can’t happen if I’m alive and he’s 3 points away from winning to which you’ve stated you have no intention whatsoever of attacking him. You’re implicitly letting him win lmao
04 Nov 21 UTC Autumn, 7: Exactly, you won't be left alive. We will each finish with 17 SCs, one short of the solo. Like Greece said, we decided to go for a the draw pretty early once Rome started acting belligerent and greedy with us. If you go back through the turns, you'll see us start with a pretty militarized border but one that go progressively friendly as it became clear we were both invested in the draw in the long haul. I'm not sure what's so shocking about people choosing to take diplomacy seriously and prioritizing a fun, cooperative game.

I'm also not sure what the reporting process is, but if you feel so strongly about this, report us. I'm sure mods can look into our messaging history and they will pretty clearly see a well negotiated alliance that has had its up and downs, but one that ended on a solid up.
04 Nov 21 UTC Spring, 8: Diplomacy isn't a cooperative game lmao, 2 player teaming in a 5 player game is just game ruining.
04 Nov 21 UTC Spring, 8: I totally disagree. You are just as able to form alliances as anyone else and trying to go for unassisted solos in every game is just a bad strategy. Particularly when there is clearly an alliance forming on the other side of the map.
04 Nov 21 UTC Spring, 8: Greece had the opportunity for a solo and willingly gave it up and you currently have an unstoppable opportunity for one as well. Playing the team game on a 5 player map just removes agency from the other players. Why bother playing when 2 people just decided to team up and one of the two won't even respond to messages because they already made a deal and diplomacy is totally the game of strong alliances and cooperative winning
04 Nov 21 UTC Spring, 8: We clearly just don't see eye to eye on this. I think forming alliances and going for draws on small maps is completely fine, maybe even preferable given the smaller size and claustrophobic atmosphere. I also doubt you would've given up the chance for a draw if one had presented itself, you just had some bad luck. At the end of the day, you can disagree all you want with how we played this one, but we certainly aren't cheating or playing in bad faith and you're welcome to report us if you think we are.
04 Nov 21 UTC Spring, 8: The difference is I’m playing to win, I would draw in this situation because I have no ability to solo. You choosing to draw when you have the ability to win means you aren’t playing to win this changing how the game is played and making the outcome predetermined
