16 May 19 UTC Autumn, 1905: GameMaster: Turkey voted for a Concede. If everyone (but one) votes concede the game will end and the player _not_ voting Concede will get all the points. Everybody else will get a defeat.
19 May 19 UTC Autumn, 1906: GameMaster: Someone has taken over Turkey replacing "Goat42". Reconsider your alliances.
30 May 19 UTC Autumn, 1912: GameMaster: Italy voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has.
10 Jun 19 UTC Good game! My first try at Classic - Fog of War and at no messaging.
10 Jun 19 UTC Good game all. I've only played a few fog of war games and this was my first win. I found being Germany to be helpful as I had more knowledge of the map from being in the center. The turning point was the convoy from Belgium to Edinburgh in Autumn, 1903 - getting an army in England that early in the game allowed me to take England out from the inside out, and then I launched a successful French campaign. From that point, there was only one front left. Sorry Russia.
10 Jun 19 UTC Good game. Nice job, Germany.
10 Jun 19 UTC I like how the only two Italian territories left are Syria and Iceland.
10 Jun 19 UTC (Clyde, technically, but Iceland is green too)
10 Jun 19 UTC Yeah, I was thinking about that, too. The two opposite corners of the map, and two spaces that never get occupied in many games. My "sightseeing trip" to the North Atlantic didn't accomplish much for me, though. I should have tried more often to grab a center in a fall move. As it was, I certainly could have made better use of that unit closer to home.
10 Jun 19 UTC I might have kept France out of my home centers, but I don't see how I could ever have stopped Germany or Russia once they had that head of steam going.

Congrats, Germany.
10 Jun 19 UTC Thanks! Yeah, as I said the big moment was that convoy to Edinburgh. Take a look back at the map in 1903 with the arrows - breaking England's line so quick was the key.
10 Jun 19 UTC Yes indeed, that was key. Taking North Sea the turn before was a huge part of it - it's always a terrible thing for England to lose that space. He also blundered during your invasion in Spring 04 - he had a F Yorkshire that could have retaken Edinburgh, but instead he dislodged you from North Sea, which let you retreat straight into London.
10 Jun 19 UTC (Actually Autumn 04)
10 Jun 19 UTC Yep, exactly. I like to discuss games like this after they're over; I'm surprised so many people don't discuss the pros and cons of certain tactics after the games. It's the only way to learn
10 Jun 19 UTC This site does seem to have a lot of players who aren't interested in the conversation aspect of the game. I mean, no-press games seem quite popular here. Personally, I generally have no interest in them - why play a Diplomacy game with the diplomacy taken out? But it does make sense to me when combined with fog of war.
10 Jun 19 UTC I used to be like that, but now I play some gunboat too. Still strategy, just a different type.
11 Jun 19 UTC Interesting game... now i got a bit of time to say something.

I feared most of the game Austria and t I tried to be his little allie. I saw him taking Berlin and Munich and he is allied with Italy aswell probably.

In 1906 i decided that i am strong enough to battle Austria. And that worked well with the help of Germany and some small errors of Austria.
In 1913 i thought i got a good chance maybe to win this game. And then i made a big fault to stay in 1913 in GuB and dont move to the Baltic Sea. I want in 1914 a big surprise attack but Germany... u had the same idea and u were more quickly.
Congrats to Germany!
A difficult win with loosing home SC is better then an easy one ;)
11 Jun 19 UTC Agreed! Thanks for the great game, Russia. I had no idea how close you were to winning. When I saw Austria breaking one of the cardinal rules of diplomacy and starting a Austria-Germany war, I figured they must have wiped you and Turkey out. That turned out to not be the case.
11 Jun 19 UTC I can’t believe I did as well as I did for so long. Germany did great in regaining its home SCs. I think Italy’s initial aggression against me prevented me from going further. And when Russia started moving on me, the numbers were no longer good.
