30 Dec 18 UTC Thank you everyone. It was a long, hard slog where I was close to giving up but kept going when Russia kept supporting me in the east. Thanks for spirited fighting to the bitter end, especially from France but also from Germany and Austria. Hope to see you again in some new game.
30 Dec 18 UTC Congrats England! You've got a deserved victory, accomplished against a united board by punishing every small mistake we made. I realized to late how powerful the your naval superiority in the the Atlantic and Indic was in this variant without Build Anywhere. In the end it made you unstoppable.

I'd like to thank you all, as well, for this slow paced but still very interesting game, especially to Germany, who caused me quite some worries at some point in the game, to Russia, who managed to hold me up long enough unit I had to turn against England, and to my early Italian rival. And thanks to France for fiercely fighting against the soloist at the sharp end even though it was not rewarded this time.
30 Dec 18 UTC Yes good game to you Britain. You did a great job taking on the entire board once Russia finally turned on you.
30 Dec 18 UTC Quite funny that after 10 turns at least not moving, i moved against uk and japan moved against me at the same time.
30 Dec 18 UTC When Russia started NMRing was when I decided to try moving against them. I really couldn’t figure out why they weren’t trying to take India, because they definitely could have safely moved a couple units down there starting around 1895. I needed them to help me fight Britain because we had reached a stalemate in the south.
And then when I stabbed them was the point when they finally decided to move against Britain. Oh, the irony.
30 Dec 18 UTC In general, I think I wouldn’t have gotten it if the rest of you had worked together more completely. In particular, the fights against Russia from Germany and Austria tied up probably more than 20 units, in a fight that probably five years ago was clear would not be decisive for the game. Once I realised that I could stalemate Japan, I knew that Indian Ocean would be only mine, and unless Russia got all his coast covered in armies I would pick off all those centres with time and patience.
