15 Mar 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Info: This is a choose your country game.
10 May 18 UTC Well tucked away in my corner I didn’t have the slightest idea what was happening all game. I could have continued support/holding for years to come. Well done Bob
10 May 18 UTC Interesting a victory with 6 players still alive. Made it hard to know what was going on
10 May 18 UTC Phew, this was an extremely close call grounded in my terrible feel for Russian strategy in FoW. Credits to Doctor putting up a really solid fight, it was so annoying how difficult it was to get a proper foothold in the Balkans. It didn't make it easier that I missed one quite crucial phase that set me back majorly. After that phase, i was all but sure i would still be able to pull the solo but i'm glad it worked out eventually ;-)

Also, I am glad I finally got my solo in this tournament. Took me friggin' 6 games to finally do so haha. Such a sharp contrast with the 3 solo's in the 3 first games of the previous tournament. I should try harder to defend my title haha.
10 May 18 UTC Also apologies to Graham for completely ignoring your willingness to cooperate from the start ;-)
10 May 18 UTC Well done Bob, I was wondering when you'd start winning again. Difficult game for me, perhaps I was too paranoid moving back and forth, but I have to complain about my game in Germany once I realized the Russian threat (around mid game). I don't think I got a single guess right. Could've made things harder for you with bette r results there I think.
10 May 18 UTC Yup, i'm glad that worked out quite well.

By the way I like your manoeuvre in Spring 1905, d-ice. Unfortunately for you and perhaps fortunately for me, Doc didn't buy the French pressure you were trying to fake haha.
10 May 18 UTC Well done BobRoss. A very constrained game for me this time round.
10 May 18 UTC Anytime my Germany gets eliminated in Fog, someone has played very well. I usually rock as Germany. So well played Bob.

But this does prove that the knowledge you had due to your discovery of the glitch in the home screen's game display did help with those three solos.
10 May 18 UTC Bob. I must have a face that people like to punch. I can never seem to get a Russia turkey juggernaut going as either power
10 May 18 UTC I'm slightly disappointed that you keep bringing that up as an important factor in my solo's of last tournament.

Was it generally an advantage to know the order of largest to smallest empires? Yes. Yet, in all three of those games I had an insanely flourishing start (in a phase of the game where that knowledge wouldn't mean anything yet. It wasn't a game decider, as i was extremely lucky with how my neighbours decided to make their moves and my guesses fit right in with those respective strategies. If i recall correctly, i didn't stand a proper chance in any of the 4 other games of that tournament, regardless of having that knowledge - and I wish that it would've been common knowledge as i now have to keep on proving myself. Yet, that's what I am going to try - this tournament ain't over yet ;-)
10 May 18 UTC Bob. I must have a face that people like to punch. I can never seem to get a Russia turkey juggernaut going as either power
10 May 18 UTC Simple question. If the answer is yes, then it gave you an unfair advantage.

Did that information play into your decision making process when planning your moves last tournament?

And, to be fair, you brought up your three wins first. Not I. Consider the last tournament a travesty that should be voided and stricken from the official tournament record. Taking advantage of a bug on a page that isn't even the game page is cheating. I stand by that and until you win another tournament, I feel everyone in that one had their points (both dP and vP) stolen.
10 May 18 UTC Hmm. I always seem to duplicate messages when I refresh the page. Sorry
10 May 18 UTC I am sorry you feel that way. It was something i accidentally found out because I tend to have an eye for details and I genuinely wasn't aware this was an actual bug (i considered arguments pro and against). In retrospect I wish i had more clearly mentioned it (unaware that it was uncommon knowledge, i did refer to it in most of my post game statements i believe). Anyway, we have had this discussion before and I do not play these tournaments for either the dP and/or vP and i couldn't care shits if they would be taken away from me. In fact, you had a big hand in my victory in two games by retreating away from your home territories in survival mode when I was marching towards you.

I value integrity big time (and have showcased that in various ways, inside and out of this tournament). Call me anything you want, but I will always try to uphold values of fair play.
10 May 18 UTC I was in that tournament and have no problems with BobRoss using what he did and it was great he let us all know too. Chill pills all round...
10 May 18 UTC Bob's three solos last time were well deserved. Nuff said.
10 May 18 UTC Well, we'll have to agree to disagree. He knows what he did. He knows that he discovered a bug, used it to his advantage, and didn't report it then gave a lame "I thought it was common knowledge" excuse. "Deception is part of this game. I've done a few things that technically were within the rules at the time and got the rules changed over at webDip and presumably here too. I admit I push the lines. And if he just admitted what he did was to give himself an advantage and that he knew damn well that he was exploiting something few people, if any, besides himself knew about, then I would let it go. But as long as he continues to profess his innocence, I will believe he is guilty.
10 May 18 UTC I can only agree to disagree. Luckily, the tournament has almost come to an end and we shall be able to part ways ;-) No hard feelings, I understand your position on the matter and have stated my perspective on things. All is good to me.
10 May 18 UTC Oh, I'll play with you again. I enjoy our competition. And as I said, I wouldn't have brought it up except *you* brought up your three solos. I'm more impressed by d-ice's two here without that advantage and would love to see him steal a third in game 4. But we won't discuss that as that would be discussing an ongoing gunboat. It's obvious who the remaining players are though through simply logical deduction based on who was who in the other 6 games.
