02 Jan 18 UTC | Spring, 480 BC.: (Chumbles): The name of the game is a misquote by Capn Jack Aubrey from Patrick O'Brians' brilliant novels. The original is Autres temps, autres moeurs... |
07 Mar 18 UTC | Congrats, Boeotia. |
07 Mar 18 UTC | I thought it was WTA !!! So I left my SCs to fight Boeotia. Bit of a dumb move XD Well played everyone, GG tho |
07 Mar 18 UTC | I killed myself early by being to aggressive. |
07 Mar 18 UTC | Well played Dr R... within 2 years I knew Athens would fall - it takes too long to get out of Anatolia are via D and C that blocking in by the Corinthians and Spartans is a certainty... and I realised quickly that the Thebans were being played by a thinking player. Left like a hot pie on a window sill to be eaten after it had cooled... The essential tactical weakness for Attica is that it starts with a bloody army in Athens - as much use as a hocolate fireguard... Once Strategos started acting as a vanguard for Dr R what Temas and I did became irrelevant. *moan, grumble* Once again *gnashes teeth* well played, Dr! |
07 Mar 18 UTC | Thanks all, a win is always nice. Thing is, it was an oversight on my part joining the game in the first place. I missed that it was PPSC, which I typically avoid due to the very thing that happened in this game. I just don't understand why anyone would throw a game, allowing a solo and forfeiting a draw for the purpose of gaining what, a few single points? If I was not the winner in this game, I'd be furious with the myopic dot-grabbing. |
07 Mar 18 UTC | But I'll take the win! |
