22 Jan 18 UTC Autumn, 91BC: GameMaster: Quiom voted for a Concede. If everyone (but one) votes Concede the game will end and the player _not_ voting Conceede will get all the points. Everybody else will get a defeat.
24 Jan 18 UTC [Maroe]:I'll take second place. GG everyone this really has been something different
24 Jan 18 UTC [Payashk]:Congrats, ubercacher.

I am quite surprised when no one could set aside their difference and cooperate against Namaq when it was quite clear that Namaq has engulfed Oz and then me to get Solo chance.
24 Jan 18 UTC [Quiom]:Maroe, there is no second place. You ruined the chances of Shinto, Ithsomn and me to stop Namaq and force a draw. Perhaps you're inexperienced but there is no "second place" in winner-take-all games and you shouldn't attack players who are on the frontline against the player who is about to take the victory. We all lost, except ubercacher who played it all very nicely.
24 Jan 18 UTC [Oz]:Well played, ubercacher! I can't say I paid much attention after my early bath, but you expertly took advantage of my blunder, and didn't give me a chance to recover.
24 Jan 18 UTC [Shinto]:Xildur. Everyone *did* set aside their differences except one player who decided very early on to lose with most units.
Brexit, the only reason you had most units is because everyone else was smart enough to see the need to stop Namaq from the win and focused their energies there. Green, pink, blue would have crushed you. Of course ubercatcher is an experienced enough player to let you have your fun for his benefit.
I could not understand the complete unwillingness to ally with anyone, as a center power it's essential. But I could see your goal fairly early on, sigh.
Thanks to everyone else for the game. And congrats to ubercatcher, relentless.
24 Jan 18 UTC [Namaq]:Don't give to much credit to Brexit. I think I would have pulled it off even if he hadn't helped out a bit, it would have taken longer, but I think I would have gotten it done.

Thanks tantrumizer for the early alliance that helped me finish Battalion and Xildur.

This is an interesting variant, it would be fun to try again.
24 Jan 18 UTC [Maroe]:You guys make a fair point.
Had this not been a gunboat game I think cooperation may have worked, but as ubercatcher says it would have prolonged the inevitable
24 Jan 18 UTC [Maroe]:Would definitely play again tho GG everyone
24 Jan 18 UTC [Ithsomn]:I figured that with the early "alliance" between Namaq and Quiom that one of them would be able to achieve a solo. Their control of the right edge of the board and deciding to not fight each other gave them an advantage while the rest of us fumbled around with each other. And as soon as Oz got taken out, I thought Namaq was a clear suspect for the solo. But I guess not everyone saw it. Good aggressive game, Uber!
24 Jan 18 UTC [Shinto]:I don’t think a solo was inevitable until quite far advanced. There were many opportunities for Maroe to join Quiom instead of hurting him. And stop attacking me when it would have been better to fight back to back. But that boat sailed several turns ago agreed
24 Jan 18 UTC [Shinto]:I am trying to set up games with the less used variants under the name “Something Different #”. All gunboat. Will keep going down the list (alphabetically :-)
24 Jan 18 UTC [Oz]:Yep, with Uber in a corner I was surprised Xildur jumped on my back, at which point there was not much I could do. I'll look out for more of your games, Grahamso!
24 Jan 18 UTC [Shinto]:Haha. Just “Graham”
