12 Dec 17 UTC Spring, 1901: (Enriador): Welcome! Glad you could join =)
15 Dec 17 UTC Spring, 1901: (cjuric): What does EoG stand for?
15 Dec 17 UTC Spring, 1901: (Enriador): EoG: End of Game. Appears when a game has either a time limit or a modified number of SCs to win
15 Dec 17 UTC Spring, 1901: (ubercacher16): End of Game. It means that the normal victory conditions of 18 centers has been lowered to 12 for this game.
15 Dec 17 UTC Spring, 1901: (ubercacher16): lol
18 Dec 17 UTC Spring, 1901: (Enriador): Feel free to post the link to this game in your other games too!

Youngstown Redux game!
20 Dec 17 UTC Spring, 1901: Got to keep an eye on the SC count in this one - a win could sneak up fast here.
20 Dec 17 UTC Spring, 1901: Good luck!
20 Dec 17 UTC Spring, 1901: Glad I'm Italy in a 12 SC game. Always sucks when someone gets 18 and you're still at 4.

Now people only need 12 while I'm at 4! I'm hyped, think of all the winning combos that no longer need to take Tunis.
20 Dec 17 UTC Spring, 1901: I think the early game will be as always, but the midgame will be brief while the endgame will jump on real quick.

The stalemate lines will lose some of their huge importance too. I wonder how it'll play out.

Good luck!
12 Jan 18 UTC Autumn, 1906: GG Austria, always tough to play a country with 3 hungry neighbors. Elimination is never fun but surviving til 1906 ain't bad.
14 Jan 18 UTC Thanks Pope. My diplomatic skills proved no match to the Tsar's expert maneaveuring and manipulation of the Southern Triangle.

I will keep following the game. I am glad the 12 center limit is working as intended; 3-way draws are impossible, coupled with a WTA setup it means am exciting endgame ahead.
15 Jan 18 UTC Holy crap. What the hell was Russia doing?
15 Jan 18 UTC Gg all i sent out warnings but with no success. Good diplomacy italy you kept in solid contact with me even though we never touched. You worked the map well and deserved to win.
15 Jan 18 UTC Yes. You played very well.
15 Jan 18 UTC GG - Italy a well deserved win. It didn't have to be that way, but Russia was obstinate and went into zero-communication mode with me, which I find a questionable way to play diplomacy.
15 Jan 18 UTC First, I want to apologize to Austria, Turkey, and Russia in that order. Austria, you had the most interesting messages about opening strategy and I wanted you alive. I blame Russia for that elimination. I thought your dip was ok, I just don't think A-I works well.

Turkey, my only regret is supporting you to Serbia. It borders 5 SCs, too strong of a position in the Balkans. I was negotiating with Russia for him to be the one to not support you in but he wanted you as an ally as much as I did. Getting you out of Serbia took quite a few turns and eventually Austrian assistance. Ultimately, I'm not a fan of T-I. If either power builds more than 1 total fleet, war is basically guaranteed.

Russia, you were a valiant ally. If this was a 18 SC game, you can bet I would have stuck with you. That S07 move may have been the most trust I've ever seen in a diplomacy game. I think I would have gone Rum->Bud->Vie->Boh/Tyr depending on my trust level. If it was standard, I'd know you were the best ally in the game and I could work with you to 17-17. But you (and Turkey) gave me a shot at the solo. Maybe you didn't expect Turkey to feed me centers in exchange for the survive. But giving me two of Turkey and supporting me to Smy this year, that's a dream and I had to take the shot.

Germany, I'm not sure what the Tyrolia opening was. Asking now, was that specifically requested by Austria? And to Austria if you read this bit, did you hear chatter that I was considering an Obriani? I was certainly ready to move against Austria in S01 but the German move and the Russian hold would have been the perfect counter. Instead, we had a weird early game and then you moved Mun->Tyr->Pie and I'm still a bit confuzzled as to it's effectiveness. Also, you had 1 turn to seize Belgium and you lost the initiative. I was legitimately worried for a moment that your tempo would be way faster than mine.

France/England, I'm sorry for the had you by the balls jokes. It was thoroughly entertaining writing those messages and I really just needed you to work together to stall Germany so I had time to finish the Balkans. I'm glad it worked out, provided some good drama with Germany ascendant then battled back. Russia helping brown but then ultimately moving back to StP. I'm glad to see the F/G vs E at the beginning with G on top, very much fit the Go Fasta, Go Fasta layout I was looking for.

In a meta sense, Slypups, why do I have so many games where I have to fight you? We really need to not share a border and work together in at least one of these games. Still, as always, GG wp. Much appreciated for the help at the end. Very sorry about the stab in Ser, it's too important.

To Cavendish, the ever so trusting Russian, I hope you stick with VDip, even if I stabbed you in the second game. Never go radio silence, at least trade barbs with your opponent about good guesses or something. They may ultimately toss you a solo.

Nemesis, what happened with the warnings? I didn't hear hide nor hair about a conspiracy against me. And I have to apologize, I spent until A03 conspiring against you with F/G. I thought I gave you solid advice on moves but hoped they would be just great delaying actions. I enjoyed your messages despite the dire straits.

Uber, I feel bad about F Nap->Tys->WMS. I think that, my move against Turkey on Serbia, and my final stab on Russia were the only lies I had to tell this game. I really didn't care to get you back to Mar, I needed to snipe Por/Spa/Bre to ensure a victory if Russia defended.

Enriador, I want to discuss opening strategies from a different perspective in another game. Sorry to go after you early, it was the plan from S01.

TnT, I disagree with your opening but I did overstate the probability. I still think Ruhr would have been better, especially with France having only 1 unit on Bel in F01. Still, thanks for the block on Russia in Swe and fleets against England. Delayed the tempo enough for me to salvage my opening and position in the Balkans.

GG to all. Apologies for the long winded messages. I wish you good luck in your next game.
15 Jan 18 UTC Also, don't underestimate the 84 reliability rating people. Just because I NMRed while camping, shouldn't make a difference in a fresh game. @Slypups, that's kinda why I sided with Sich over Song.

Either way, this game was a ton of fun. I'd be down for another game of anon classic, maybe with EoG:18 this time.
