14 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (slypups): This one looks wild. Hope it fills up. |
14 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (Jon65): I agreed! |
14 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (Major Problems): We have a ways to go.......hopefully some more folks want.........CHAOS! |
14 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (AronAmbrosiani): I'm in! Almost full now! |
14 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (slypups): Lol - almost full with 26 slots left. |
14 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (Eham): I hope this does get off the ground. If not, I think it might be better advertise it with 10 days until it starts, on both vDip and WebDip. |
14 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (DemonOverlord): >:) |
14 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (Ezio): Yea. I should have sent out the message as soon as it was made, rather than waiting a few days. If we get to 17, I'll ask the mods for an extension for the start time. |
15 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (LeonWalras): Can't wait for this map to be available on webDip! |
15 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (Major Problems): I'm interested to see what everyone thinks - what is a good starting SC? Tunis? Norway? How bout Kiel, surrounded by 4 others? |
15 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (Eham): Tunis is terrible. You're stuck as an army on an Island. I think Portugal is pretty good. You only need to get supported into Spain to get your second centre, whereas people need fleets to kill you. |
15 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (Eham): Actually, I'm wrong. I didn't realize you could pick what type of unit to start with. Never mind. |
15 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (LeonWalras): Tunis is an army? I thought you could choose which unit you start with? |
15 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (ishirkmywork): I actually wouldn't mind Sevastopol. Water on one side, only gotta convince one person to help you. |
15 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (LeonWalras): Cross post! |
15 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (ishirkmywork): Serbia however is f*cked |
15 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (LeonWalras): I think everyone bordering Black Sea should build a fleet and bounce Black Sea. |
15 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (slypups): According to the map stats, your worst starts are Warsaw and Belgium. In 18 games played, those two locations have only survived twice, and been eliminated 16 times, never drawn or soloed. You can see why those starts are tough. Most places you can try to negotiate a "I'll support you to X if you support me to Y type of deal." But Belgium and Warsaw can't really do that either by providing an initial support or asking for one first. The best draws have been: Serbia with 1 solo, 5 draws, and 12 eliminations Ankara with 6 draws, 1 survival, and 11 eliminations Constantinople tied with St Pete with 1 solo, 3 draws, and 14 eliminations Although a couple of other start locations have done better, Smyrna with 1 solo, 1 draw, 1 survive and 15 eliminations rounds out the Turkish home and suggests that's one of the better regions to start in. |
15 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (slypups): My message got cut off - those are the best start locations by the stats |
15 Feb 17 UTC | Spring, 1901: (slypups): Worst start spots are Warsaw and Belgium with only 2 survivals and 16 eliminations each. You can see why. They can't offer an early I'll support you to X if you support me to Y type of deal, unlike many of the other locations. |
