30 Oct 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: Hello, everybody ! I am very happy to play with you three. Hello, Blockhead ! It is very nice to get to know you. Thank you, Dr. Recommended, for organizing this game. I wish everybody a great game ! |
30 Oct 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: The French embassies all over the world are open for negotiations. |
30 Oct 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: France wants to point out that there is a geographical mistake on the map : "English Channel" should be named "French Channel". |
30 Oct 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: We shall do so when you take it, good sir! I'm not sure why South England is colored blue on this map, I will have to fix that ;) Today we are celebrating the birthday of Mother-of-Blockhead, while I myself am preoccupied with a lot of schoolwork. I hope Blockhead will check in today, but it might be tomorrow. |

30 Oct 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: Hello it's blockhead it's really nice to meet everyone and I'm really exited and I would be happy to form an alliance with you Russia |
30 Oct 16 UTC | Autumn, 1901: Have a nice birthday party ! |
30 Oct 16 UTC | Autumn, 1901: @ Russia : Watch out ! A Turkish Fleet in Black Sea can be a big threat ! |
30 Oct 16 UTC | Autumn, 1901: England is right : all French territories are named in English ! As a matter of fact, it is even much worse than that : every territory of the map is named in English ! That is a clear sign that the British Empire, who already controls half of the world plans to conquer all of Europe ! |
30 Oct 16 UTC | Autumn, 1901: France is offering a friendship and partnership treaty to Russia : please take Berlin and I will take Munich. |
31 Oct 16 UTC | Autumn, 1901: Indeed it is curious that Turkey agreed to Russia's invitation for alliance, yet moved to Black Sea. I wonder what he's thinking... |
31 Oct 16 UTC | Autumn, 1901: Sorry Russia I that was so we have a unit to defend at all times it is not a threat to you |
31 Oct 16 UTC | Autumn, 1901: Let us all always remember that this is an educational game whose purpose is to have fun and to learn the game. With that in mind, if you all agree, I am please inviting everyone to make comments, or ask questions, about how to play this game in particular, and Diplomacy in general. I will please start now with two general comments : • Please note and never forget that it is always the situation that determines what is a threat and not a person's intentions, even if that person tells the truth. In other words, in the current situation, the Turkish Fleet in Black Sea is a threat against Russia whether Turkey wants it or not ! That comment is accurate for a Diplomacy game but also for everything else in life. • May I please point out to everybody that proper use of the language helps a lot in negotiations. *What* one says is obviously important but *how* he says it is at least as important, if not even more ! |
31 Oct 16 UTC | Autumn, 1901: Thank you for the advise retillion |
31 Oct 16 UTC | Autumn, 1901: Good points, Retillion. It will be interesting to see how the allies, Russia and Turkey, handle this accidental threat situation. |
