13 Jun 21 UTC | Dr. Kohl holds on again - nice game everyone - thanks |
13 Jun 21 UTC | Heywood you were close to the victory. I am sorry that I helped Italy in 1909 to stay in Spain. Maybe with Spain and later Portugal you might have won this game. But it was. Good game (I liked the russian support to Venice at the end) |
13 Jun 21 UTC | Should’ve taken Florence though |
13 Jun 21 UTC | Good game all. Thanks to Turkey for the solid friendship after our initial skirmishes, and France for the crucial assists which helped to hold off the solo (which was very close to happening for a while, I thought). That rogue Russian unit at the end was almost my undoing! |
13 Jun 21 UTC | I wanted a solo; you southern bullies were so mean to me :( In all seriousness, I think whittling me out was barely the right call, although if Italy had not taken Vienna there would have been little danger of solo, so long as Turkey knew when to stop attacking |
14 Jun 21 UTC | The threat of the solo was always going to be from the South collapsing or some breakthrough in the center. England moved too slowly to secure Moscow and Warsaw so I was confident a solo wasn't in the cards so long as I could plug up Tyrolia in time. I will admit that Russian support in the end was surprising and had me genuinely worried for a while, but after Italy built and England didn't do anything to push the advantage, we were safe again. For reference England, when trying for a solo you need to move more aggressively. Keep pushing armies forward and don't give your enemies room to breathe when you're dominating. Good game all |
