02 Feb 18 UTC Spring, 1960: GameMaster: Please remember that negotiations before the game begins are not allowed.
02 Feb 18 UTC Spring, 1960: Info: This is a choose your country game.
04 Feb 18 UTC Spring, 1962: Yeah the 50-50s a wonderful when you guess right, but miserable when wrong. Thankfully they even out (usually).
04 Feb 18 UTC Spring, 1962: I’m not very good at this variant. I’ve never done a 2 player and it’s very different. It’s not about grabbing SCs it’s about grabbing opponents SCs
04 Feb 18 UTC Spring, 1962: Different mentality and I didn’t see that this pair of games. Hopefully I’ll use some lessons learned in the next set (plus you are choosing way too well >:-(
05 Feb 18 UTC Spring, 1963: Gain two lose two this year? Although I’ll find a way to screw it up. Keep painting myself into corners. Heads you win, tails we tie type bets
05 Feb 18 UTC Spring, 1963: At least I made you retreat once ;-P
06 Feb 18 UTC Autumn, 1963: haha - you are quite modest. This has been a good one and you have clearly outthought on more than one occasion. Actually I think the map is flawed as it is misrepresenting my stay in Albania. I do not "own" that SC yet, having just moved in during the Spring...
06 Feb 18 UTC Autumn, 1963: My guessing is getting better
06 Feb 18 UTC Autumn, 1963: indeed
08 Feb 18 UTC Ah. You got me in Europe. I thought you would defend Tunis and my only chance was to get Paris and hold Germany. Long shot to be honest and still would have left us 15-12. Probably better to end it sooner

Well played I was on the defensive from the start. Hopefully the next guy I face suffers from my learning experience. See you in the knockout round
08 Feb 18 UTC Thanks for the good game. You give me far too much credit and yourself too little. I thought we were evenly matched throughout, I got a slight edge early on in the Med. but you were very skillful in holding the line and even turning the corner in terms of closing the gap. You getting the build last year was HUGE. Unfortunately you got unlucky during the most recent spring turn and the writing was really on the wall at that point.

I learned a lot about this variant playing with you...perhaps we will meet again? Best of luck in the knockout.
08 Feb 18 UTC I’ll meet you in the final ;-P
