02 Dec 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Info: This is a choose your country game.
02 Dec 16 UTC Spring, 1901: Thanks Devonian :)
02 Dec 16 UTC Spring, 1901: No problem.
03 Dec 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: Your opening to Piedmont is a good opening. But it would have been a problem if I moved my fleet to Venice like you did last game. Because of that, I usually open by moving Marseilles to Burgundy and Paris to Picardy. But it worked and you are putting more pressure on me than I am on you at this point.

Particularly, if I let you have Munich and support myself into Venice, I will give up a vital SC to you in Munich. But on the other hand, if we bounce in both, I can't build a fleet. Your opening forced me to make a decision between two unpleasant outcomes. (But keep in mind, it would have been very different if I had moved my fleet fo Venice.)
03 Dec 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: Ok. I chose to bounce in both. You really didn't have a choice on your armies, but you made a big mistake in moving to the north coast of Spain instead of the South coast.
03 Dec 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: Oh that's true. I figured it wouldn't matter too much but now I can't get into the Med Sea as fast.
03 Dec 16 UTC Autumn, 1901: As a general rule, in 1v1 or multiplayer, you need to know where you want to end up eventually. Not just for the next turn. There have been times where I succesfully design a tactical advance, only to realize my next objective is no longer attainable.
04 Dec 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: I see nothing wrong with that move. Bouncing me in Munich would not have worked since I was likely to move to Bohemia. However, knowing that, it might have been interesting to move Piedmont to Tyrolia. That would have given me Venice, but really forced me to make a lot of guesses. (But, to be honest, I probably would have been too chicken to do it.)
04 Dec 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: I do see your point. I didn't realize the Pie to Tyr move, it just shows how much I'm missing.
04 Dec 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: Even if you did see it, it would have been a risky move, but it would definitely have made things interesting.
04 Dec 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: In this situation, I saw that you would probably be tempted to move Burgundy to Belgium and leave Burgundy open. Even though you have an army in Venice, I can probably deal with it. But my army in Burgundy will tie you up for a long time.
04 Dec 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: I didn't bounce you in Venice because I needed to build a fleet while I could.
05 Dec 16 UTC Autumn, 1902: Oh. That Burgundy unit will give me plenty of trouble I see.
