22 Apr 15 UTC | Spring, 1901: (kaner406): A.K.A. - The Meat Commission On another note - can we please get a quick re-iteration of the rules before the game starts? |
22 Apr 15 UTC | Spring, 1901: (The Ambassador): Yeah I was looking forward to it bring called The Meat Commission too. Oh well at least we'll be playing soon. |
22 Apr 15 UTC | Spring, 1901: (Mapu): I am a vegetarian -- I couldn't bring myself to name it "Meat Commission". So a synopsis of the rules: - Once countries are assigned, pick one of the three languages for your country from the list on the forum. You don't have to stick with one -- you can use any or all of them for different players as long as you don't know the language. Not sure why you'd want to, but you're allowed to - Type the message you want to transmit into Google Translate, then translate that to one of your three languages. Copy the resultant text into the translate from box, and translate to Chinese (traditional). I noticed in some experimenting that sometimes Google Translate got confused with Japanese when I was using Chinese (simplified). - Copy the resultant Chinese into the messaging system here - This one is important: please avoid translating back to English before you send it to see if your message is legible. Such a practice would lead to fine-tuning the source message over and over until the destination message is readable. - All press, global and otherwise, needs to go through the translation process - An exception to this would be explaining why you might need an extend -- that can be done in english in the global chat. Did I miss anything? Anything else to clarify? Any other ideas? |
22 Apr 15 UTC | Spring, 1901: (Mapu): Darn -- it missed the first part of my message. Here's what I said: - I am a vegetarian so I couldn't bring myself to name it meat commission. - You can use any of the three languages for your given country. These languages are outlined in the forum. Not sure why you'd want to, but you're allowed to. - Translate first to your power's language, and then to Chinese (traditional). I noticed that Chinese (simplified) sometimes gets incorrectly recognized as Japanese when I was experimenting a little bit. - Copy the resultant Chinese to the messaging system here The rest of this message is above. |
